Challenge LOAW WEEK 3#

Your word for the year if you have one for the start of or your title.
My word for this year is TODAY . I need to take each day at a time enjoy it dont stress out if I dont get everything done and if something more enjoyable happens to come along on said day to embrace it and not panic about what I have left behind usually the house work.....
Your word needs to stand out I cut today on the cameo and embossed it gold..
Also use up to 10 embellishments of your choice ie: die cuts, dots, twine. Dots like above count as 1.....

A little bit of scrappy stuff

This month its my turn to host the LOAW Challenge at Studio Calicos Challenge Central.

 Week one is all about shapes there have been so many trends lately triangles ,arrows one of my favourites is the Hexagon.

Week two's challenge scrap your favourite season and use a photo that depicts that season ..

This layout is for the Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary of  Lorraine and Tom Lowe very close family friends of my In laws.I made a layout for Grants parents and Lorraine loved it and commissioned one for their anniversary. My last piece of Websters along with some prima, lace tape and ...Isn't this a gorgeous photo..

PL I have started

Here goes Its not the begining still waiting for New year pics to be sent to me so I started with Jan 2nd .
I can do the others and a title page later..
I decided to use the SC handbook and am now wondering if that was such a good idea ,I think it will work out as I wont be documenting everyday stuff that much .
Thank you to all the girls on FB for the invite will be adding my attempts there too..
I recently took part in a swap at SC and my partner sent me lots of PL cards Becky Higgins so I have more than enough to keep me going for a now.I was on the wait list for the PL kit but changed my mind I may just try and pick up the odd one . Its amazing when you go through your stash just how much you can use...

So here are my first pages.... I also discovered nearly all my photos are landscape!!!! hence a few of them have been put together its all a learning process I really need to get another printer ..

A few more bits & bobs

 Another challenge to hand stitch your title and

 make your own polka dot embellishment .The card is for Jack using the cameo fantastic toy I have only just started to use a few of  its features. I have just printed a heap of photos and I'm about to attempt starting my PL.I like Trace's idea of putting in the odd  layout. I'm using a Studio Calico Handbook and will post a few pages once I get started..

Studio Calico Bright Ideas Class Challenges

I signed up in Jan for the Bright Ideas Class over at Studio Calico so far its been really good each class has a technique's sketch and challenge .They really get you thinking along with each class download is a series of die cut folders some printable files and videos .This class really has been value for money..
I have managed 4 layouts so far only 3 have been photographed so far. The first one was to use neutrals and add just a pop of colour the second one was to use a map...The last one was to use a stencil..

Update

Just thought I would update my last post.
Mum passed away at 6.05am Monday morning dad and I missed mum by 10 minuets.We had a call at 5.30 from the nurse saying she thought mum was close alas its a good 20 minuet drive in one sense I was relieved that mum was at peace and looked so serene.The past 5 days had been hell and my poor sweet mum certainly did not deserve any of it.
Mum Funeral is tomorrow at 2pm and now she is at peace..
I would like to thank all my wonderful friends for contacting me via txt email or leaving me a message it means so much, to hard to put into words.....

This wonderful and beautiful woman is my mum Joan . Mum would be 88years young March this year
alas mum suffered a stroke Thursday evening at the Sunset Lodge Rest home where mum has resided for the last two years due to Alzheimer's. Time is not on mums side at least she is unconsious unaware of what is happening.Mum has always had a big heart its what is keeping her going now .

Mum words could never express how much you will be missed by your family I love you ..
